Were thrilled to welcome the iconic Dutch DJ and producer Jaydee to Bonzai
Records with his impressive release, Plastic Tears. Departing from our
usual rave-driven style, this track delivers a deep, powerful blend of
progressive tech infused with nostalgic undertones. A true legend in the
electronic music scene, Jaydees influence remains strong as he performs
across Europe and continues to craft remarkable tracks in the studio.
Always a pleasure to have him on the label. The release opens with the
Original Mix, kicking off with a deep, rolling bassline that pulses with a
didgeridoo-like resonance, setting a hypnotic foundation. Chunky, driving
beats lock in with crispy hi-hats, creating an irresistible groove. A
fierce grungy vocal narrates, while warm Hammond-style piano motifs (no
doubt a nod to Plastic Dreams) weave in, adding a soulful touch. Crunchy
303 lines bring raw texture, and bright synth plucks sparkle on top,
creating a layered, evolving soundscape perfect for late-night floors.
Jaydee is joined by two iconic artists, Manu Riga and Phi Phi, also known
as Kayinda, who return to the label with their Dub Remix. After
collaborating on multiple projects over the years, the duo officially
formed Kayinda, gaining recognition through a series of standout tracks and
remixes released on respected labels. With each release, they continue to
solidify their presence in the music scene. The remix here takes us into
darker territory, driving forward with solid, punchy beats and shimmering
hi-hats, creating a deep, hypnotic groove. Layered with rhythmic
percussions and droning basses, the energy builds in a moody undercurrent
as dark stabs echo in a call-and-response pattern. Trippy, Hammond-style
